Raising funds for Priscilla Bacon Lodge.
Exams finished.
Now lets start
again.
Hannah and the girls have pretty much come to the end of thier GCSE exams and would like to resume thier fund raising, they are now looking for idea's on how to raise even more funs for Priscilla Bacon Lodge.
P.B.L Support in Lord Mayors Procession.
Hannah, Amy and Shantelle will all be on the
Priscilla Bacon Lodge Support Group's float in this
year's Lord Mayors street procession in Norwich on
July 9th.
This is an annual event in Norwich and
raises hundreds of pounds for various charities. If
you are available we hope you could come along and
give the girls a cheer.
The Girls have been busy helping to create just some of the decorations for this year's float.
Welcome
My name is Hannah Melton. I am 16 years old and I
live in Norwich Norfolk.
In 2006 when I was aged just 11 years old My Aunt
and Godmother Nicky Barrett sadly passed away after
suffering with Cancer for almost 3 years.
Nicky passed away whilst being cared for by the
staff at Priscilla Bacon Care Centre here in
Norwich.
The care both Nicky and our family received by all
the staff at Priscilla Bacon was superb and in the
name of my Aunt and as a big thank you to all the
staff it is my aim to raise much needed funds for
the centre to enable them to carry on their
wonderful work.
The Priscilla Bacon Centre in Norwich provides
specialist care, advice and support for patients
with advanced diseases and those close to them.
Facilities include a specialist Inpatient Unit
(Priscilla Bacon Lodge), The Rowan Centre Day Unit
and a wide range of other community services.
The story so far...
Over 150 letters have been written to companies and
organisations asking for donations and or gifts. We
held a fund raising day at the Castle Mall Shopping
Centre in Norwich and also a charity Christmas Party
and raffle that included all of the wonderful gifts
donated by so many people. I am very happy to
announce that on the 16th February 2011 I was able
to present a cheque to Priscilla Bacon Support Group
for £2144.31.
I cannot thank enough all of the companies and
individuals who helped me to raise that money, It
would not have been possible without you. The names
of just some of the companies and organisations that
donated are on the screen below.
My appeal to help raise funds for Priscilla Bacon
Lodge in Norwich has been featured in local
newspapers and on BBC radio over the last year and I
would like to offer my thanks to those involved for
their valuable help to raise the profile of the fund
raising for this very worthy cause.
I hope to be able to continue with some new ideas
for fundraising later in 2011, in the meantime my
GCSE's are here and I will be concentrating my
efforts towards them for now but I am still open to
suggestions for fundraising activities if you have
them.
